Misery loves company. The Unfortunate Cookie Co. is made up of three friends (Elliot, Kevin, and Anthony) who love laughing at life’s happy catastrophes and love fortune cookies. But growing up reading those same old naively inspirational fortunes, we found they weren’t quite as meaningful in today’s thorny world.
We set out on a 3-year journey to create Unfortunate Cookies—perfecting the formula for a crunchy and delicious cookie—and carefully craft over 300 snarky fortunes that better resonate with our sometimes grim reality. And let’s be real, these fortunes don’t pull their punches.
The Unfortunate Cookie Co. was founded to help people embrace and find the joy in the dreadful situations life sometimes has in store for us. We did our best to tap into the anxieties many of us regularly ruminate over. And we hope you enjoy reading and sharing them with each other as much as we enjoyed writing them.
