Poetry Performance :: Poetry in the 253

By April 12, 2010 February 4th, 2017 No Comments

On April 24th, 2010, I’ll be performing along with 6 other of the greatest poets in Tacoma. The event, Mouth and Mics: Poetry in the 253, is being organized by current Poet Laureate of Tacoma, Antonio Edwards and is being held at the Washington State History Museum.

I interviewed Antonio over at The Melon in September of last year about his time as Poet Laureate. He told me then that he considered this event to be one of the major contributions to the Tacoma poetry scene.

At Poetry in the 253, each poet will have a 12-14 minute set to perform what they please, how they please. Poets will bring in other arts such as dance, drawing, and music to enhance their work and create some amazing performances.

If you live in the Puget Sound area, don’t miss a great night of poetry from a wide range of great artists. Plus, I’ll be there. Tickets are $7 at the door and can currently be purchased at Urban Grace in Tacoma or you can contact me @ elliottrotter (at) gmail (dot) com. For those who can’t make it, we’re planning on taking some video as well which will be available via The Melon.
